How we select and review content

A number is useful only when its definition, date and limitations are clear.

What we publish

World Alive combines an interactive population explorer with short explanatory guides. Reference pages keep the supplied datasets available; our Learn section explains how to use them without confusing administrative borders, annual estimates and projections.

Selection, not volume

The first six guides address specific questions raised by the data: what a live counter measures, city boundaries, components of growth, projection vintages, ageing and reading rankings. We do not treat the number of generated pages as a measure of quality. A source-record page is a reference entry, not an independently researched article.

Evidence rules

AI and authorship

AI assisted the drafting and development. Guide bylines read “World Alive editorial notes”; they are not invented human experts. Calculations are checked against the bundled files, which is not independent validation of the original surveys. The personal experience uses prewritten local interpretation rules, not a live AI biography or a validated psychological assessment.

Updates and corrections

A review date records an actual content review; a dataset reference year records what period the numbers describe. Neither is changed merely because the page was rebuilt. The review log records this review without implying an established publishing history. Future reviews should be recorded only after they happen.

Send a page link, the disputed figure, its definition and a reliable source via Contact. No guaranteed response time or independent fact-checking service is claimed.
